It's that time of the academic year for the AEHAP Student Research Competition.  This is the 15th year of the SRC competition of Environmental Health undergraduates and graduate students from universities across the nation. Students enter Abstracts of their research project.  Each project is reviewed and scored using the SRC scoring rubric evaluating originality, scientific rigor and relevance to environmental health science.  The judging is done by impartial volunteer Environmental Health professionals.

For those who have participated in the past as a mentor or student be sure to read the 2023 SRC Information and Guidelines as there have been changes.  This year we are changing to a Structured Abstract Format along with using a Google form for your application, to upload your abstract and complete the submission of your SRC entry.

For 2023 there will be two 1st Place SRC Awards. A 1st Place Undergraduate and 1st Place Graduate student will each receive a $1,000 cash award and a $1,500 travel and stay allowance to attend the NEHA Annual Education Conference, in New Orleans from July 31 to Aug. 3, 2023.  The 2nd place award winner will receive $500, and 3rd place will receive $250.  All 4 winners will be featured presenters at the 2023 Spring Student Symposium on Tuesday, April 18, 2023.

Be sure to sign up for the SRC Application Event here to receive email updates and reminders about the SRC for 2023.  The application period runs from Friday December 9, 2022 through January 27, 2023 at 11:59pm EST.

At AEHAP we focus on engaging with students during their journey into the varied field of Environmental Health, while they pursue their undergraduate or graduate degrees.

The Student Research Competition (SRC) sponsored by AEHAP has been running nearly 2 decades.  Students compete for awards with travel and presentation opportunities at the National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) Annual Education Conference (AEC).  Dozens of students awarded by AEHAP have used their winning SRC opportunity to start their EH careers and make new connections, often the start of life-long friendships.

Your donations and sponsorships are needed more than ever to offer awards including travel to the 2023 SRC winners.  The SRC awards with travel and administrative costs are $4,000 per student winner.  Our goal is to give 4 full awards for this academic year.  Please consider donating to AEHAP 2023 SRC Awards Fund on Giving Tuesday 2022 or beyond.

Please consider donating to the AEHAP General fund to support ongoing Environmental Health student recruitment and engagement.

Click the Donate button above to make your deductible contribution, please consider a recurring gift.  Thank you for your donations of support, each gift is appreciated and an encouragement.
